Supply Chain Planner

This position manages and assumes responsibility for Raw Materials, Components, Outside Vendor Processing and Finished Goods supply of multiple product lines, planning and buying for materials requirements and ensuring flow of materials to the production floor and customer. 
  • Perform material requirement requirements planning through high interaction and coordination with manufacturing personnel and external supply chain partners.*
  • Assure timeliness of deliveries by managing the MRP process, while executing orders and managing the reschedule processes.*
  • Manage and improve inventory levels by implementing programs (Kanban, Consignment, and Just-InTime) to improve inventory turns while improving delivery.*
  • Provides assistance to our Regulatory team to ensure compliance to federal regulations and quality standards.
  • Maintain SAP documentation records and system integrity on standard cost, purchase price, vendor performance and critical elements.
  • Effectively management material requirement changes resulting from Engineering Change Notifications.
  • Provide support to the manufacturing line and distribution centers by resolving all material issues in a timely manner and interfacing with Production Planning, Customer Care,
  • Quality, and Suppliers to ensure all customer needs are met or exceeded.
  • Participate on New Product Development Teams by focusing on the material needs of the project.
  • Work with Quality by managing material return process and requesting Supplier Corrective Actions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position requires an individual with:

  • B.S./B.A. degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field is preferred or 2-3 years of equivalent professional experience in Purchasing/Materials/Planning functions
  • Pull system/Kanban system, JIT, Min/Max MRP system working knowledge and implementation preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated high level of business judgment. Ability to positively, responsibly, and professionally deal with suppliers, customers and cross-functional departments.
  • Willingness to put forth extra effort and time when needed; support company decisions and policies; cooperative interaction with peers and others.
  • Good organizational skills including a detail orientation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Must understand the importance of teamwork, and be able to cooperate and participate in team efforts, have the ability to work within close proximity
  • and use constructive approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent organizational/time management skills. Must be able to accept responsibility, work independently, multitask and make decisions.
  • ERP Experience, preferably SAP
