Coordinate and support all necessary actions between the Safran Aircraft Engines Design Office/Center of Excellence (CoE) and US Supplier, leading to streamlining and improving Build-To-Spec (BTS) product definitions, designs, and production.
Deal with the supplier, at their facility when needed, on all actions to improve the relationship and communication with the IH Design Office for optimum efficiency
Implement necessary actions at suppliers, leading to rapid qualification or change approval process,
Ensure that suppliers understand SAE Design requirements / specifications and propose appropriate qualification plans.
Support formal design reviews through analysis of the design and provide opinion on suitability of design to meet specification requirements
Analyze design changes and conformance to procedures in order to improve implementation process
Define the path leading to improved efficiency of NPI processes or Design changes at the Design Office level.
Challenge deadlines with suppliers, in close coordination with the equipment leader, to ensure on-time (or expedited) NPI qualification or Design change approval.
Participate in all the new part(s) industrialization (NPI) process and tollgates: Update the data from the different information systems within the scope of activity to ensure that the day to day work at the workshop is adequately described within these documents.
Attend any phone calls or meetings in relation to new Design and improvement action plans.
Work closely with Quality, Methods, Purchasing and Planning teams to ensure suppliers’ activities are coordinated and aligned with program objectives
Ensure smooth and efficient DVI PPAP implementation at suppliers to mitigate schedule delays.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Systems Engineering and/or Design Office in relation with production and parts development,
Experience of mechanical design with experience of fluids/thermal considered a plus
Past experience in Aeronautical businesses in a design role
Skills / knowledge and experience in Project Management,
Competent with Windows tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Capable of anticipating actions and questions between CoE and Suppliers
Flexible and adaptable to working locations and needs of the program
Ability to use design software i.e. CATIA to review designs
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory
Fluency in Spanish considered a plus
Job located in Cincinnati area (office) with capacity to easily travel between various suppliers’ locations in USA and in Mexico,
Confidentiality about SAFRAN activities and actions plans
