Title: Controls Engineering Supervisor Location: Milwaukee, WI
Under direction of Electrical Engineering Manager, responsible for overall supervision of activities of Controls Engineering staff in the design of machine and tool controls according to customer specifications, or from concepts developed by the applications team.
Design through shipment and installation at the customer's location.
Maintaining team-oriented cooperation within department, and other departments within company.
Assign projects to Controls Engineers upon release, oversee and monitor planning, organization, implementation tasks required for timely releases to production.
Work with Application Engineers to establish pricing or solve design issues that come up while developing quotations for new projects.
Conversant with safety rules and regulations as they pertain to the machine and tool controls designed and manufactured, how they pertain to personal safety matters and concerns for employees.
Team will have a “cradle to grave” responsibility for the projects.
Integration of the machine or tool controls with the mechanical design; electrical and pneumatic circuit design; evaluation, requisition, follow up on purchase components; creation of the PLC (ladder logic format), Safety Control, and HMI code; and the creation of all documentation/manuals, or other customer required information.
Advises and consults closely with the Manager, Electrical Engineering on such matters, including annual performance reviews.

Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering plus 7 to 10 years related experience.
3 years of supervisory experience.
Competency in AutoCad, thorough understanding of HMI design practices, PLC Ladder Logic, and a working knowledge of industrial networks.
Electrical codes (National Electrical Code, NFPA, ANSI, etc.) and safety requirements as related to industrial equipment.
Microsoft Office software.
Working experience with Fanuc, Panasonic, Motoman and other robot brands is desirable.
Travel to customer sites (some international) for installation and service requirements. Average 15%.
