Procurement Administrator

Title: Procurement Administrator

Location: Austin, TX

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Administrator, capable of administering the prototype and production procurement for a new and complex product through its development phases.

  • Analysis and administration of systems and components through the procurement process such that forthcoming build phases are achieved on time, to the right engineering level, and with quality.
  • Identify available prototyping vendors within the system for various processes (Sheet metal, CNC, etc.) Determine their availability and lead time as mapped against the entire product BOM
  • Where necessary, onboard new suppliers into the system
  • Produce a weekly progress report for tracking throughput of the above, including highlighting any issues or risks requiring attention.
  • Identify and communicate lead times for all parts in support of on-time release.
  • Create Purchase Orders and place with suppliers
  • Track and manage Estimated Delivery Dates with suppliers.
  • Track and oversee receipt of incoming components and systems.
  • Work with engineering, procurement, and the range of suppliers to expedite supply of high priority components and systems.
  • Engage with the Engineering Change Notification process to incorporate the latest changes into the procurement activity for the relevant build phases.
  • Build excellent relationships with a wide range of people across the UK, Europe, and USA, and be able to influence them to deliver data on time.
  • Demonstrate exemplary business behaviors to create a positive working atmosphere.
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time.

  • Extensive experience of Project Management in a technical/engineering, Product Development, or innovation subject area.
  • Product Development experience is essential.
  • Technical/Engineering background is essential.
  • Relevant technical university degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience of software, hardware, and the integration thereof.
  • Commercial awareness regarding costing of projects and their business impact
  • Experience of managing offshore teams.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication and ability to build excellent relationships.
  • Strong organizational & time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines in a calm and controlled manner.
  • Resilient, persistent, and enthusiastic; an individual able to deliver results to agreed time targets, capable of dealing with changing priorities.
  • Adaptable and self-motivating.
  • An eye for detail.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A recognised Project Management certification or qualification.
  • A passion for product development and innovation.
  • Business & financial acumen and analytical capability.
