Required Qualifications/ Education Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent work experience.

Desired Work Experience:

  • Minimum of three years of manufacturing engineering experience;
  • Experience with welding and robotic operations helpful
  • Tier one automotive experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Basic Knowledge of PPAP, APQP and Control Plans;
  • Knowledge of OSHA General Industry Standards, TS16949 and ISO14001;
  • Understanding of Programmable Logic Controls;
  • Project and time management skills;
  • Good Problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Autocad / basic design CAD skills a plus

Critical Success Factors:

  • The employee must maintain an excellent attendance record, which is defined as being at work all the time and on time.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions.
  • Ability to apply understanding of details but simple written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving many variables in different situations.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provides engineering and technical support for current products and new product launches;
  • Plans and designs manufacturing processes;
  • Maximizes efficiency by analyzing equipment layout, workflow, assembly and workforce utilization;
  • Works with suppliers on assembly tooling and cells;
  • Works with vendors on equipment specifications;
  • Develops and implements capital projects;
  • Diagnoses and corrects manufacturing processes, equipment and quality problems;
  • Participates in Design reviews and assists with equipment upgrades;
  • Ability to log into corporate supplier portal and access and navigate applicable customer portals;
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction activities;

Effort/ Physical Demands/ Working Conditions:

  • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management.
  • Frequent distractions and interruptions
  • Multiple demands in a challenging and fast paced- team orientated environment
  • Noisy environment
  • Overtime as required.
  • 70% Plant Floor 30% Office
  • Travel as required

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Compliance with Occupational safety sections of Act.
  • Must report all accidents and near misses to your Supervisor
  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and procedures.
  • Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or certain clothing as required by the company.
  • Must wear all designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Back-up Duties:

  • Perform other duties as required
