Job Summary

Develops electrical and pneumatic designs, PLC/HMI programs, assembles tooling, and setup/debug of equipment for the Company equipment build group.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Creates electrical and pneumatic designs using Autocad/Draftsight
  2. Creates electrical and pneumatic BOM’s
  3. R & D all customer and internal specified new technology to be able to successfully implement into equipment via setup, programming, etc. and train other employees how to implement
  4. Develops machine PLC programming (ladder logic) (Mitsubishi, Keyence, etc.)
  5. Develops operator interface software (Mitsubishi)
  6. Marks-up design prints to provide feedback to Design about problems so that they can be updated
  7. Assists Design Department with electrical and pneumatic specifications
  8. Setup/Debugs tooling/machine for correct function
  9. Assembles machined details together per design
  10. Performs small machining to allow for design changes and/or problems
  11. Wires tooling and/or electrical panel per prints
  12. Teardown equipment for shipment
  13. Setup equipment at the specified plant after shipment
  14. Keeps Equipment Tracking Sheet up to date with current status
  15. Performs equipment runoff with customer and close out any open issues that arise
  16. Monitors inventory level of common parts and recommends ordering at correct time
  17. Maintains 6S within assigned areas
  18. Provides technical support for continuous improvement of production equipment and processes
  19. Performs other duties as assigned


  1. Meets one of the following education and experience requirements:
    1. Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls and Instrumentation, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline OR
    2. High School Diploma plus 5 or more years of related experience, which includes experience with PLC programming, HMI programming, and electrical prints
  2. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
    1. PLC/HMI programming (Mitsubishi preferred)
    2. Technical and mechanical skills
    3. Problem solving and analytical skills
    4. Advanced ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic blueprints
    5. Ability to pass performance test with 70% or better
    6. Organizational and planning skills
    7. Communications and interpersonal skills
