Summary:
We are currently seeking an Assistant Manager, Production Planning and Control (AM PPC) located at our Corporate Office in Novi, MI reporting to Assistant General Manager of PPC. This individual will work with Company’s sales division and Company’s Japanese division and will be responsible for product and project planning; and system improvements. Responsibilities
Focus on launching new vehicle and/or new vehicle equipment within predetermined cost, quality and allocated preparation time.
Promote higher level understanding of ECI(Engineering Change Instruction) and parts list by organizing and facilitating ECI meeting.
Create, manage and maintain OP-Chart(Project Schedule) and kadai list(Punch List) for new projects.
Organize and facilitate project meetings. (Obeya, kobeya)
Evaluate and take necessary countermeasure to maintain project schedule.
Organize, manage and communicate model year change items to related departments.
Coordinate parts and assembly drawing issue timing with related departments.
Train direct reports and support mid-year and yearly performance review process.
Deliver products to customers with the shortest lead time from order to shipment.
Partner with affiliated departments, Company’s sales division, and Company’s Japanese division regarding production of products to include issue resolution and required adjustments
Ensure coordination regarding component design changes due to engineering management, cost reduction, functional improvements and issue resolutions
Coordinate the development of new product production
Travel to sites for production-related problem solving through root cause analysis, development, implementation, and verification of corrective actions.
Reform and innovate daily operations regarding project management
Develop project management strategies and implement best practices, to improve operational performance
Lead standard and actual change point management and improve process management from “built in quality” point of view.
Develop strong relationship with affiliated sales and Japanese departments
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or related field is required
PMP Certification preferred
Work experience in an OEM or Tier 1
Advanced MS Outlook, Excel and Project skills required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Strong organizational and data management skills.
Strong understanding of vehicle assembly process preferred.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and fast paced environment.
Knowledge of plan-making and project evaluation.
Techniques for involving a wide range of people in making decisions.
Ability to function as a mediator or facilitator of decision-making processes.
