The Design Release Engineer will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing and production release and launch of the power closure systems. This will involve reviewing and applying DFMEA’s, DVPR’s, performance standards and conducting validation tests for the components as well as working with cross functional team members, supporting plant launches by ensuring components are designed and being applied as per design intent and checking designs against design guidelines, corporate requirements and regulatory requirements. This will be a hybrid role and will include some time at ARDC onsite for testing. There will be travel to the US for meetings 1 to 2 times per month.
Qualifications:
At least 3 to 5 years of design release experience in automotive components.
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
Experience with any of the following body hardware components: latches, window regulators, door hardware, mechanisms, electromechanical, power lift gate, sunroofs, power closures, aero, active grill shutters, lift gate, tail gage, closures, convertible tops, mirrors.
Excellent program management skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with NX preferred.
Experience with Teamcenter preferred.
Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) experience preferred.
Knowledge of Shanin Red X or other reactive quality tools preferred.
Automotive assembly plant or launch experience preferred.
