Propulsion System Battery Management System
Location: Windsor, Ontario

The Propulsion System BMS EOL Engineer is responsible for supporting design and release teams in manufacturing and assembly plants. This person will work closely with the lead BMS and Pack Integration Design Release Engineer, software engineers, technical specialists, other engineers and plant personnel to ensure the Battery Management System is successfully implemented in the battery pack assembly and in the vehicle.

What you’ll be doing:
  • You will develop and verify BMS calibrations.
  • You will perform Battery EOL testing and assist in troubleshooting and report issues for resolution.
  • You will support problem solving activities by analyzing EOL data with Vector CAN tools, INCA, or plant tester diagnostic tools or by visual inspection.
  • You will aid in the authoring of EOL tester change requests.
  • You will aid in change control and establishment of clean points (this may required part relabeling / off-line re-flashing as needed).
  • You will establish and document new requirements, best practices and lessons learned as appropriate, with guidance from BMS engineering.
  • You will support vehicle triage and systems level troubleshooting of the battery pack on the vehicle assembly line and flexibility to support field issues as well.
  • You will demonstrate proficiency in data collection, post-processing and analysis during calibration release DVP activities.
  • You will analyze functional models to root cause and document controls and software issues blocking calibration progress. You will perform virtual and in-vehicle testing to achieve calibration maturity at each of the vehicle milestones of the program.
  • You will work closely with the center of competency to review both issues with functional area, integration and follow guidance for calibration best practices and methodology.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with manufacturing experience or equivalent education in manufacturing principles. 
• Combination of business focus, analytical and problem-solving skills in order to quickly define solutions within a specific application. 
• Must have experience with data acquisition and have the ability to use development diagnostic tools and data acquisition tools: INCA, Vector tools: CANalyzer. 
• Excellent oral and written and communication skills. 
• Ability to work within a team and with a proactive attitude. 
• Proficiency with application engineering principles 
• Process oriented, and high attention to detail. 
• 5 + years of Industry experience. 
• English: Advanced
