Job Description Summary
The Tooling Main Project Engineer will join the Tooling team within Engineering department, who is responsible for technical studies and design of tools for transportation and erection of main pieces of equipment constituting a hydropower plant (embedded parts, turbine, generator, valves and hydromechanical). He/She will be specifically in charge of project execution for already awarded projects in North America region
Job Description
For a given project in execution, he/she will perform the calculation and the design of the tools according to the COE’s Design Practices and with the validation of the tooling principal engineer.
- Represent the Tooling Center of Excellence (COE) in front of the Project Team: Generator System Integrator, Generator COE main project engineers, Supply Chain and Construction & Commissioning
- Coordinate within the Tooling COE the calculation and design of the full list of tools identified during synopsis phase (detailed transportation & erection sequence of the power plant)
– fulfilling planning, cost and safety requirement
Required Qualifications/Characteristics:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience
- Significant experience (>5 years) in mechanical design of hydro generators
- Experience in design of lifting equipment and access platform or significant experience on site
- Good knowledge of CAD software NX or SolidWorks
- Excellent written & verbal English skills for international communications
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional and global teams
- Strong people skills, proven leadership skills and a positive energy
