Job Description Design Engineer 3 166-1 
Description/Comment: Engineer-Design (Cooling Component Design) This position is responsible for developing and validating cooling components in accordance with the NPI and APQP processes to improve performance, reliability, durability, and costs for new and existing products. Responsibilities include current product issue resolution , coordinating all supplier related activities, creating technical specifications, conducting design FMEA's, developing component DVP&R's, maintaining project plans, presenting formal design reviews, procuring prove design hardware, coordinating validation testing and analysis activities cost reduction activities, and releasing drawings and solid models. The minimum requirements for this position are a BS or MS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Agricultural Engineering. Proficiency with CREO ( Assembly and component solid modeling) and 5 years engineering work experience with component design and validation

Candidate Responsibilities Need to have component design and validation experience, prior experience working with suppliers and delivering on projects .Excellent Solid modeling skills with Pro-Engineer (Creo). Ability to create/modify various components and assemblies . Requires ability to function in team environment and have good problem solving and communication skills. All required
Typical Day

Typical Day: Typical day will include a wide variety of engineering activities, including:

• Prepare conceptual designs in support of the development of complex battery systems

• Evaluate and optimize designs using simulation tools

• Create FMEAs for components and battery systems

• Provides support and guidance to colleagues responsible for portions of the product to ensure product requirements and development schedules are met

• Utilize the DMAIC problem solving process to resolve design issues within the context of NTI (New Technology Introduction), NPI (New Product Introduction), or CPI (Current Product Improvement).

• Collaborate with external suppliers to ensure component manufacturability and meet cost targets.

• Hours are flexible around core hours

• Expected to come into office 2-3 days per week
 
Education Requirements: 4 yr Bachelors with proven 3D modeling, board design, working with quick turn board suppliers. 5 to 8 years of specific PCB design experience.
