Location: Windsor, Ontario

Description:

SSTM- Sub System Technical Manager
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Support for all integration activities and interface for all issues (cost, timing, program planning, launch support, program resolution, etc.)

· Must be available for off-hour teleconferences and travel to local suppliers and the Vehicle Assembly Plant

 

Mostly electrification related. A little on gas engines. Technical person who has a good background who is willing to learn. Good at managing information flow and communication. Understand the basics of the components of how they go together.

 

Boots on the ground reporting back to the engineers/managers in Auburn Hills. Maybe later in the future requirements for some weekend work. Some point down the line. In an early phase now and as time moves on there will be more activities going on in the physical plant itself. Early phase will be more remote work. As time goes on more in person work at ARDC.

Need some help tracking change bulletins, financial rollups, quality issues & studies. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office/Excel. Knowledge on how to manage data and issues tracking. 


Requirements:

Must live in Windsor, Ontario. 

Must be able to travel to US for occasional meetings.

Hybrid Remote- Working remote most of the time. There are certain phases of the project that they will be required in person at the ARDC to monitor issues.

 

· Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or another related Engineering discipline from an ABET accredited university or equivalent


· Design, development, and program management experience in broad powertrain functions and/or vehicle engineering in any of the following areas: engine, transmission, driveline, packaging, adaptation, controls, or calibration

· Demonstrated high leadership, communication, presentation, and organizational skills

· Proficient in MS Office applications

· Need to quickly achieve understanding of the product development processes, design validation, Key Process Indicators (KPI), and gate processes

· Demonstrated team building skills

· Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, and to work with minimal direction (ability to understand and complete next steps without guidance)

Need someone with actual work experience in North America (even technical internships in country would be ok).


Preferred Qualifications:
· Master of Science degree in Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or another related Engineering discipline from an ABET accredited university or equivalent
· Master of Business Administration Degree from an ABET accredited university or equivalent
· Experience and understanding of the vehicle cost process
· Experience with the ER&D roll-up process
· Experience with Change Notice (CN) and Common Change Document (CCD) process
· Significant knowledge of the automotive industry and competitive benchmarks
· Multiple program life cycle experience
· Experience as a Resident/Quality Engineer at one or more manufacturing plants

· International cultural experience with Latin America, Europe, and/or Asia
