Description:

North America Battery Test Lab is seeking a Project Management Engineer to support lab launch, schedule test execution, track status, and manage workflow. The candidate has an opportunity to contribute to a world-class battery lab from the launch stage all the way to the full operation.Initially the role will be focused on training, documentation and launch of the lab. The Project Engineer will support Project Manager on tracking progress from various stakeholders during lab launch stage, managing follow up actions, and reporting project status.After the launch of the lab, the role responsibilities would shift to a test projects management role. Responsibility will include coordinating and tracking all battery pack and cell testing, monitoring status and throughput of product development test requests, and coordinating through lab operations and product development and validation teams to ensure future product development goals are completed on time.

In lab launch stage:
 

  • Participate in a cross functional team for the successful execution of the Battery Lab launch project
  • Identify project risks
  • Work closely with the project teams to remove roadblocks, provide guidance on issues, and develop recovery plans
  • Upon completion of projects, ensure any lessons learned are reviewed/captured in order to improve future project execution
  • Escalate issues to management as needed

Lab in full operation:

  • Participate in a cross functional team for the successful execution of the Battery Lab launch project
  • Identify project risks
  • Work closely with the project teams to remove roadblocks, provide guidance on issues, and develop recovery plans
  • Upon completion of projects, ensure any lessons learned are reviewed/captured in order to improve future project execution
  • Escalate issues to management as needed
  • Interface with Product Development and Validation teams to remain aware of current and future test needs
  • Work with test requestors to improve the quality and / or timing of test requests
  • Develop and manage test schedules and forecasts that meet product development testing plans while optimizing test equipment usage
  • Ensure testing resources (test channels and equipment) are efficiently allocated
  • Regular reporting of test status, equipment utilization and issue tracking
  • Escalate issues to management as needed.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in project management
  • Experienced with MS Office applications, especially Excel
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Project
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with the planning and execution of large capital improvement
  • Experience working with product testing in laboratory or manufacturing environments
  • Experience working in a unionized environment

Additional Must Haves:

  • Previous project management experience or similar
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to details
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • 3 years or more experience
  • Location:  Hybrid (ARDC, 3939 Rhodes Drive, Windsor, ON, CA), The ratio tends to be more onsite when the time comes closer to lab launch.
  • No Driving a Stellantis Vehicle
  • Travel:  Low frequency if any, at most half day or 1 day every 2-3 months. To CTC in Auburn Hills or 3rd party facility in Michigan
