Industrial Engineer / Process Documentation Engineer

ENGINEER AT CHILLER ASSEMBLY PLANT
Overview:
As a Time and Motion Study Analyst, you will play a crucial role in optimizing operational efficiency within our client's chiller plant. Employing lean manufacturing principles, you will analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, and streamline processes to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Your insights will directly contribute to cost savings, improved quality, and increased output.
 Key Responsibilities:
  1. Study and understand current assembly process of chillers.
  2. Conduct Time and Motion Studies:  Utilize time and motion study techniques to observe and analyze various manufacturing processes within the chiller plant.
  3. Identify Opportunities for Improvement:  Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste in production processes through data collection, observation, and analysis.
  4. Develop Work Standards:  Establish accurate and reliable work standards based on observed data to drive consistency and efficiency across operations.
  5. Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams:  Work closely with production managers, engineers, and frontline employees to implement process improvements and standard operating procedures.
  6. Implement Lean Manufacturing Principles:  Apply lean manufacturing methodologies such as 5S, Kaizen, and value stream mapping to optimize workflows and eliminate non-value-added activities.
  7. Utilize Data Analysis Tools:  Use software tools and statistical techniques to analyze data collected during time and motion studies, such as time tracking software and spreadsheet applications.
  8. Monitor Performance Metrics:  Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, cycle time, and quality to measure the impact of process improvements and identify areas for further optimization.
  9. Provide Training and Support:  Train employees on new processes and procedures developed as a result of time and motion studies and provide ongoing support to ensure successful implementation.
 Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field with min. 10 years relevant exp.
  2. Previous experience in conducting time and motion studies and implementing process improvements in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the HVAC or chiller industry.
  3. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  4. Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, Minitab, or similar software.
  5. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  7. Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other relevant certifications is a plus.
